Start the new school year with CityBus!

Back to School on CityBus

Summer is almost over and students will be back to school. CityBus is here to help make your morning school commute less hectic— just sit back, relax, read, listen to music, catch up with friends, and leave the driving to us. CityBus is affordable, clean, safe, AND it’s a climate-friendly way to get around town because buses produce less air pollution and help reduce the numbers of cars on the road. Plus, parents can save time and avoid traffic at school drop-off zones when students ride CityBus to school.

31-day unlimited use Youth Passes are just $25. Youth Passes are available for purchase at most middle and high school offices, at the kiosk in the Transit Mall downtown, at Safeway stores in Santa Rosa, and online. A Youth Pass can be used anywhere CityBus travels, including nights and weekends and can be added to a Clipper Card. Single use youth tickets are only $1.25 and include a free 2-hour transfer.

SRJC Bear Cubs Ride Free!

SRJC students are eligible to ride any bus line, any time on Santa Rosa CityBus, Petaluma Transit, and Sonoma County Transit. SRJC students simply show their validated SRJC CubCard to the bus driver and they are set to go. SRJC students ride free for travel anywhere in Sonoma County, not just for trips to and from campus.

Plan Your Bus Trip

Planning your back to school commute is easy with the CityBus trip planner or with Google Maps.  We invite you to give us a call at (707) 543-3333, and one of our customer service agents can help you plan your route to school. Plus, you can get real-time bus departure information with the free MyStop app or by texting your bus stop number to 321-123. Simply type the bus stop number in the body of the text message, and we’ll send you real-time bus arrival information (texting rates and fees may apply).

Find which routes travel to your school, and see the full bus system map and timetable.
