Good news! Test results have confirmed that a Blue Green Algae bloom recently spotted near the Boathouse in Lake Ralphine at Howarth Park was NOT toxic. The dock and boat launch are now open to the public and boating activities will resume this weekend.
Testing is the only way to determine if these naturally occurring blooms are toxic. If toxic, the algae can be dangerous to people and pets. Always keep dogs away from the water at Lake Ralphine. As a precaution, boating and paddle boarding activities will be canceled whenever blooms are found to be located near the boathouse and dock. Lake users should avoid contact with the blooms and should not ingest the water.
