Lake Ralphine Boat Dock & Launch Closed Until Further Notice
The dock and boat launch at Lake Ralphine are closed to public use after a potentially toxic bloom of Blue Green Algae was spotted in the lake this morning (Wednesday, August 21, 2019).
Blue Green Algae can be dangerous to people and pets. Always keep dogs away from the water at Lake Ralphine. Lake users should avoid contact with the blooms and should not ingest the water.
As a precaution, boating and paddle boarding activities will be canceled whenever blooms are found to be located near the boathouse and dock.
A previous Blue Green Algae bloom spotted in the same area of Lake Ralphine earlier this month was determined through testing to be non-toxic. Since it is not possible to tell just by looking at a bloom whether it is toxic, lake users and their pets should avoid contact with the algae at all times.
The dock and boathouse will reopen for public use when the Blue Green Algae bloom moves out of the area.
