The Santa Rosa City Council is seeking applicants for one City Council Member seat with a term expiring in December 2020. The seat was vacated by Council Member Julie Combs on November 25, 2019.

In order to be eligible to hold office as a member of the City Council, a candidate must be a registered voter within the Santa Rosa city limits at the time application documents are filed with the City Clerk.

Each applicant will be interviewed by the City Council at a televised public meeting. Interviews will be scheduled for January 7, 2019 and additional days will be scheduled if needed to accommodate a high volume of applicants. The successful applicant must be an elector of the City at the time of assuming office and throughout the Council Member’s term.

Application documents must be picked up from the City Clerk’s Office in Room 10 at City Hall, 100 Santa Rosa Avenue and filed in person with the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Community Input in Council Appointment Process
As part of the Council Member appointment process, the Santa Rosa City Council invites Santa Rosa residents to submit questions that may be considered for use during Council candidate interviews that will be conducted to fill the vacancy.

Questions must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019. Questions may be submitted in person by picking up the Proposed Interview Question Form in the City Clerk’s Office or online through the following survey: surveymonkey.com/r/CouncilVacancy2019-20.
