The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has released its Interest Survey for the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery Homeowner-Occupied Rehab Program. Homeowner fire survivors who suffered major damage or total loss of their homes in the 2017 fires are urged to take the survey to help inform HCD of local needs regarding rebuilding as they roll out the Program. Homeowners will be able to apply for the “Owner Occupied Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program” to receive a potential grant to help with their rebuilding. The survey is the first step to beginning the process of applying for a grant. The deadline to respond to the survey is January 3, 2020.
The survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and registration within HCD’s system is required to complete it. HCD anticipates initial program awards for eligible homeowners to be available in Spring 2020.
