[ARCHIVED] CityBus Launches New Routes

City Bus New Routes larger

New Bus System to Launch on May 21, 2017

The much anticipated, fully redesigned CityBus system is set to launch on May 21, 2017. Santa Rosa’s new bus system will feature ALL new routes and schedules with more frequent and direct service, and more two-way service on high-use corridors. There’s never been a better time to ride CityBus for getting around town.

CityBus helps protect our planet’s climate

Cars, trucks and airplanes emit over 30% of all greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. By riding public transit, you can help protect the environment we all depend on. A single person switching his or her commute to a bus can reduce about5,000 pounds of carbon emissions annually. That savings doubles if a household with two cars makes the switch. With so many ways to get around town using CityBus, you can make a big impact toward protecting our environment.

CityBus helps keep YOU active and healthy

The average American walks only 6 minutes a day. Bus riders, on the other hand, get over 3 times that amount. On average CityBus riders log in about 20 minutes of good exercise daily as they walk to and from bus stops, and their homes and offices. Doctors recommend that we get at least 22 minutes of brisk walking daily to maintain health and agility. Riding CityBus also helps cut down on stress levels, because once on board, all you have to do is sit back, relax and leave the driving to us.

CityBus helps to build and sustain our community

Transportation infrastructure is the backbone of our city. Public transit fosters more livable communities by creating corridors that become natural focal points for economic and social activities. CityBus connects Santa Rosa’s neighborhoods and brings people from diverse economic and social backgrounds together. Lowering dependence on cars reduces household transportation costs and frees up space to create places where people want to live, work and play.

Hop on board CityBus and come see how easy it is to use public transit.
