[ARCHIVED] Restrictions Eased on Parks Access for Basis Exercise

200428 Newsflash Sonoma County Order Easing Park Closures

Sonoma County’s health officer has issued a modified parks closure order to allow residents access to some parks beginning April 29, 2020. This amended order replaces a total parks closure and allows people to walk or bike to their closest parks for basic exercise and to use those parks for walking, hiking, jogging and fishing. Please note that the following restrictions apply:

  • Driving to and parking at a park is not allowed.
  • Face coverings must be warn when coming within 6 feet of other people at a park.
  • Parking lots, restrooms, playgrounds, picnic areas, and sports courts remain closed.
  • Sonoma Coast beaches remain closed due to the potential for crowding and challenges with enforcing limited access.
