On May 5, two new testing sites for COVID-19 will be available to anyone in Sonoma County that schedules an appointment, regardless of if they show symptoms or not. In its partnership with the State of California, health services company OptumServe will administer the tests at two locations in Sonoma County: one in Santa Rosa and one in Petaluma, starting Tuesday (5/5).
Tests are free to the public. If individuals have insurance, they will need their insurance card when requesting an appointment and their insurance providers will be billed. If individuals do not have insurance, they can still get a test.
For those interested in being tested, go to https://lhi.care/covidtesting, answer a few health questions, and schedule an appointment (weekdays only). Participants may also call 888-634-1123 to schedule an appointment. Once an appointment is scheduled driving directions to the testing location and other important information will be provided. Please note there is not a drive thru option for these tests and participants will need to get out of their car to get a test.
These new testing sites are a separate operation from the County drive-thru testing at the Sonoma County Public Health Laboratory, which is currently only for health care workers. Health care workers should still call (707) 565-4667 to make an appointment with the County’s drive thru testing efforts.
