[ARCHIVED] New COVID-19 Community Testing Sites

Two New COVID-19 Testing Sites

Having adequate testing available is an important component to the safe reopening of our County and Sonoma County’s goal is to test 600-800 people per day. The State has added two local testing sites to provide free coronavirus testing to Sonoma County residents, including a site in Santa Rosa as well as a site in Petaluma. These two Sonoma County sites will be able to test 260 people per day.

Testing begins at the sites on Tuesday, May 5, and will be open to all Sonoma County residents, even for those without any coronavirus symptoms. Residents are encouraged to make appointments to get tested. To make an appointment you must go online to https://lhi.care/covidtesting. For those without internet access, call 1-888-634-1123 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are available on weekdays. All individuals are allowed to be tested, regardless of medical insurance coverage; however, for those with medical insurance – their insurance providers will be billed (when scheduling an appointment online or by phone, be sure to have your insurance information handy as you will need to provide it to complete your appointment scheduling).

Please note, these are NOT drive-thru testing sites, and participants will need to get out of the car to get a test. Please wear an appropriate face-covering upon entering the facility.

The new testing sites are a separate operation from the County drive-thru testing site at the Sonoma County Public Health Laboratory, which is currently only for health care workers. Health care workers should still call (707) 565-4667 to make an appointment with the County’s drive-thru testing efforts.

Individuals with coronavirus symptoms should still contact their medical providers to seek treatment and testing.
