Community members are invited to participate in a virtual community meeting to learn more about the plans for the Safe Social Distancing Program for unsheltered individuals that will be located in the parking lot of Finley Community Center. The meeting is this Thursday evening, May 14th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. City staff will provide an overview of the program and the plans for operation of the site and participating community members will be able to ask questions during the meeting (see instructions below for participating). Set up of the Safe Social Distancing site is underway at a section of the parking lot at Finley Community Center, and occupancy of the site will begin next week. The temporary, managed site will help unsheltered individuals to achieve safer social distancing amid the COVID-19 emergency.

Residents are encouraged to review the Safe Social Distancing Program FAQs prior to the virtual community meeting to learn more about the program, including details about timing, site operations, and security. The agenda for the virtual meeting (Agenda en Español) will include the opportunity to ask questions of representatives from several City departments, including Police, Fire, Transportation and Public Works, and Housing and Community Services, as well as a Catholic Charities representative to provide information about services and management at the Finley parking lot site.
