The City will host a virtual community meeting addressing the implementation of the Safe Social Distancing Program for unsheltered individuals in the parking lot of Finley Community Center on Thursday, May 14 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. At this meeting, City staff will provide an overview of the program and provide an opportunity for participating community members to ask questions.

Set-up of the site in the parking lot adjacent to the Finley Community Center is underway and occupancy of the parking lot site will begin next week. This temporary, managed, parking lot site will help individuals experiencing homelessness achieve safe social distancing amid COVID-19, as recommened by State and County health officials’ guidance.

City staff representing Police, Fire, Transportation & Public Works, and Housing & Community Services, as well as  Catholic Charities (the site’s contracted service provider) will be available during the meeting to provide program information and answer questions about the management of the site.
