Our local US National Weather Service office has issued an Excessive Heat Watch beginning Monday (5/25) at 11AM through Thursday (5/28) at 7PM for the entire Bay Area with the exception of some coastal ranges.
The event is forecasted to be a “Moderate Risk” heat event. A moderate event does not meet the threshold for the activation of cooling centers locally. We will continue to monitor the conditions for any increase in heat risk.
We are encouraging our community to limit excessive sun exposure, strenuous activities during the warmer afternoons, and to stay hydrated. Never leave pets or children, elderly, sick individuals in hot cars as temperatures can rise rapidly inside cars over short periods of time.
