In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the City of Santa Rosa is implementing a Rental Assistance Program to help residents with rental payments through December 31, 2020. Approved by City Council on May 19, over $600,000 in federal housing production funds were reallocated to assist up to 50 tenants impacted by total or partial loss of income during this public health emergency. The City sent this plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is currently awaiting approval.
The Rental Assistance Program application period is anticipated to open June 1, 2020 and remain open through June 7, 2020. In order to qualify for rental assistance, the applicant must meet ALL the following eligibility criteria:

- A loss or decrease in wages as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic
- At least one member of the household who is a documented U.S. citizen (this person can be a minor)
The application will be made available online and hard copy applications will be made available upon request.
