[ARCHIVED] More Business Operations and Community Activities Allowed with Mitigation

New Health Officer Order

Good news from the Sonoma County Health Officer! Today, June 5, Dr. Sundari Mase issued a new Health Order allowing more business operations and activities in the County, including the City of Santa Rosa. The new Health Order, effective tomorrow (Saturday), June 6 at 12:01 a.m., represents further easing of some public health restrictions with limitations and protocols to help prevent further spread COVID-19.

New Business Operations and Community Activities Permitted with Restrictions and Protocols:

  • Indoor dining at restaurants, wineries and brewpubs
  • In-person church services
  • Haircuts and styling at barbershops and salons
  • Outdoor recreational activities, including pools for swimming for exercise*

*The City of Santa Rosa looks forward to reopening City pools on June 15th in compliance with the amended Health Order. Details to follow soon!

Mitigation Measures Required - Social Distancing, Face Covering and Hygiene:

The new Health Order outlines mitigation measures that must be in place upon the opening of additional business operations and personal activities to help prevent further spread of COVID-19. These mitigation measures include social distancing, face covering, and hygiene requirements and limits on the size of groups that are permitted for outdoor recreation and sporting activities. Requirements for businesses to safely reopen include preparing, posting and implementing a Social Distancing Protocol and requiring all employees to perform a self-check for COVID-19 symptoms and temperature check before reporting to work.
