[ARCHIVED] New Shelter-in-Place Health Order Aligns County With State

New Health Officer Order

Today, June 18, Dr. Sundari Mase issued a new Health Order allowing more business operations and activities in the County, including the City of Santa Rosa. The new Health Order, effective tomorrow (Friday), June 19 at 12:01 a.m., aligns the County with the State and relaxes more restrictions, allowing more businesses and activities to resume with certain restrictions and mitigation measures in place.

New Business Operations and Community Activities Permitted with Restrictions and Protocols:

  • Gyms
  • Fitness Centers
  • Movie Theaters
  • Entertainment Centers
  • Casinos
  • Cardrooms
  • Racetracks
  • Bars
  • Zoos
  • Museums
  • Galleries
  • Aquariums
  • Hotels
  • Short-Term Rentals (for tourism and individual travel)
  • Campgrounds
  • Schools and School-Based Programs
  • Nail Salons
  • Tattoo Parlors
  • Personal Care Services


Mitigation Measures Required - Social Distancing, Face Covering, Hygiene and Symptom Checks:

The new Health Order outlines mitigation measures that must be in place upon the opening of additional business operations and personal activities to help prevent further spread of COVID-19. These mitigation measures include social distancing, face covering, hygiene requirements, symptom checks, as well as compliance with the State’s sector specific guidance and are all in place to protect employees, customers and the public.
